Captain George’s Fishing Charters offers unforgettable fishing experiences along the pristine waters of Fripp Island, SC, and the surrounding Sea Islands. With easy access to both inshore and offshore fishing grounds, trips are available year-round and cater to all skill levels - from families and beginners to seasoned anglers.
Our charters range from 4-hour inshore/nearshore trips targeting Spot Tail Bass and Speckled Trout, to full-day Gulf Stream excursions where you can chase after Mahi Mahi and Marlin. We also offer sunset dolphin cruises, providing the opportunity to enjoy a refreshing cocktail while taking in the iconic Lowcountry views. Whether you're looking for a relaxed day on the water or the adventure of landing the catch of a lifetime, we have a trip designed just for you.
Captain George is a U.S. Coast Guard-certified captain who has been fishing the Lowcountry waters his entire life. With over 19 years of professional charter experience, he operates out of Fripp Island Marina, offering expert guidance and deep local knowledge of the Sea Islands’ diverse fisheries.
As a Fripp Island native, Captain George's deep knowledge of the local tides, migratory patterns, and fishing seasons gives him an unmatched ability to put clients on fish. His passion for fishing and familiarity of the local waters ensures a fun, safe, and productive day on the water.
Your adventure takes place aboard the Miss Lia II, a 31-foot Cape Horn center console. She's equipped with twin Yamaha 300 four-stroke engines and advanced Simrad electronics for precision navigation and safety.
Trips depart from Fripp Island Marina, where you’ll have access to the marina store for any last-minute essentials. At the end of your trip, Captain George will gladly clean your catch so you're ready to enjoy a fresh, local meal.
Half day trips are 4 hours.
They include fishing the inlets and
nearshore reefs about 10 miles offshore.
Fish species include but are not limited to:
Spot Tail Bass, Speckled Trout, Flounder,
Sheepshead, Spanish Mackerel, Baracuda, and Sharks.
3/4 day trips are 6 hours. Typically we fish from 10- 25 miles offshore.
This is the perfect trip in the spring for Beaufort, SC's local favorite, Cobia.
Fish species include but are not limited to:
Cobia, King Mackerel, Seabass, Vermilion Snapper, Trigger Fish,
Grouper, Spadefish, Amberjacks, and Sharks.
Full day trips are 8 hours. Our fishing range is typically out to 40 miles offshore.
Fish species include but not limited to:
Same species listed in 3/4 day trip,
Full Day provides more fishing time and the ability
to try more fishing spots and ensure a truly successful trip.
The gulf stream trip is an all day experience.
Typically we will leave the dock at 5 am and return at 5 pm. We run around 55 miles offshore.
Fish species include but not limited to:
Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Wahoo, Sailfish, and Marlin.
A relaxing evening cruise that is great to take out with the family or some friends and enjoy the sunset, nature and a few cocktails.
